This page explains what personal data cozymysterybookreview.com handles, why, and what your rights are. The short version: the site uses Google Analytics to count visits, but only if you allow it in the cookie banner. There is no advertising, no newsletter and no comment form.

What Data Is Handled
Server logs
Like every website, this one runs on a web server that records basic technical data about each visit: your IP address, the page you requested, the time, and your browser type. The logs are kept by our hosting provider, Hostinger, UAB (Švitrigailos str. 34, LT-03230 Vilnius, Lithuania), which processes them on our behalf within the EU, for security and to keep the site running. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). The host keeps them for a limited period under its own retention rules; we look at them only to fix problems or investigate an attack, and we do not use them to identify visitors.
If you email us, we use your address and your message only to reply to you. We keep the correspondence as long as it is needed for that conversation, and delete it on request. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering messages (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
Analytics
If you accept statistics cookies in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4. It shows us how many people visit the site, which pages they read and how they found us. Google Analytics collects the pages you view and the time of your visit. It also records your approximate location (country or city), your device and browser type, and the website that sent you here. Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address. We use this data only in aggregated form, to decide which reviews to write next. We do not use it to identify you or to show you ads.
The service is provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), which processes the data on our behalf. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States; Google LLC is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). We keep the analytics data for the retention period set in our Analytics account, at most 14 months. Google’s own privacy information: policies.google.com/privacy.
If you do not accept statistics cookies, Google Analytics does not load, and nothing about your visit is sent to Google.
Cookies
The site sets two kinds of cookies for visitors:
- Consent cookies (names starting with
cmplz_): they remember what you chose in the cookie banner, so we do not ask again on every page. They are strictly necessary and are kept for 365 days. - Statistics cookies (
_gaand_ga_RD3QLCRGVW): set by Google Analytics, only after you accept them. They let Analytics tell a returning visitor from a new one, and are kept for up to 2 years.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with the “Manage consent” button at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of what happened before. WordPress also sets cookies for logged-in site administrators; these do not concern visitors.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To use any of these rights, email us at the address above. We answer within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hungarian data protection authority: Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH), Falk Miksa utca 9–11, 1055 Budapest, Hungary, naih.hu, or with the authority in your own EU country.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date.
