If you know of a better writing duo than husband and wife Jim and Joyce Lavene, please share! A Timely Visions, their first in the Missing Pieces Mystery, had me spellbound from the first page.

Meet Dae O’Donnell, mayor of Duck, N.C.  Not only is Dae mayor, she is also the owner of a local thrift store, Missing Pieces. Dae goes above and beyond for her beloved town, even as far as helping to solve not only a recent murder, but also a 30 year old cold case. Dae has a talent for being able to “find” things, just by touching the person who has lost it. Along with ex-FBI agent Kevin, Dae sets out to help elderly Miss Margaret and finds herself engaged in not only a murder, but also in a real estate scam.
Every series that the Lavene’s write has always captured my attention. So far there are four titles in this series and I advise you to read all of them. Then go ahead and check out the other series that these two talented people write.

  1. I have this on my wishlist! I have not read anything by this couple yet, but I absolutely love the historical cozy mysteries by Robin Paige, who are Susan Wittig Albert and her husband Bill Albert. Of course I also love the other series by Susan Wittig Albert.

  2. I have read every mystery this couple has written except for one of the NASCAR series. I enjoy all the series, but the NASCAR is my least favorite. Just not a car setting fan, I guess.

I read this book a while ago. I have two others in the series, but not the latest one. I agree with the previous comment — I don’t think I’d like the Nascar series. I have most of their Peggy Lee series and one of the Sharyn Howard books and I didn’t think I would get into that series. I liked their pet psychic book, the one about the turtle. I’m not really into Renaissance times, but I do have one of those books.
